Upholstered Bed Frame - Photorealistic Renders
A king-size upholstered bed frame with a deep-button tufted headboard, modeled in SketchUp and rendered in a complete bedroom scene. Mood lighting and careful fabric texturing create a luxury hotel aesthetic.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The commission was to produce lifestyle renders for an upholstered furniture range ahead of a trade show. The scene required building not only the bed itself but a full supporting room environment — flooring, wall panelling, bedside furniture, and soft lighting — to create a believable and aspirational visual.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Full bed frame geometry including tufted headboard detail
- Bedroom environment model (walls, floor, accessories)
- V-Ray fabric shader development for linen and velvet options
- Day and evening lighting scenarios
- Four camera angles including a hero wide shot and detail close-up
TOOLS USED
- SketchUp
- V-ray
- Photoshop
DESIGN NOTES
The tufting pattern was modeled geometrically rather than relying on a displacement map, ensuring accuracy at any resolution. Evening lighting used warm point sources at 2700K to create a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.
